Training Report - Mt.Tokachidake (Mt.Tokachi) 39

We are in the latter half of May. It's extremely rare you can ride on snow in the latter half of May. K participated in this training. It was minus 1 degrees Celsius at the Tokachidake Hot Springs (Tokachidake Onsen).

Because of snow out of season, snowplough doesn't come yet. It's difficult to ride because of heavy fresh snow as the temperature is high. He's riding on the ruts where the snow is half compacted.

The descent is difficult as well.

Finally a snowplough came and cleared the fresh snow. However, the snow on the road is muddy and the studs reach the asphalt under the snow easily as the asphalt of high temperature melts the snow of lower layer which has a direct contact with the asphalt.

But he's doing the interval sprint training at the summit although the road surface condition isn't so good.
